Association “Education for Entrepreneurship” (Stowarzyszenie “Edukacja dla Przedsiębiorczości”- EDP) was officially registered on 8th September 2003 in Krakow on the initiative of more then 20 Polish universities interested in building a knowledge-based society. Its aim is to reinforce entrepreneurship development and the preparation of educational projects supported from European funds.
It presently consists of 24 members, Polish state and private-owned universities in order to execute the following key activities:

  • Task force 1: Training for trainers in the area of Entrepreneurship
  • Task force 2: Education of the unemployed
  • Task force 3: Education of entrepreneurs
  • Task force 4: Self-governments and their role in supporting Entrepreneurship
  • Task force 5: Incubators and other structures for implementing Entrepreneurship
  • Task force 6: Postgraduate education in the area of Entrepreneurship
  • Task force 7: Consulting

The Association achieves the above tasks through:

  • Preparation and implementation of the programs concerning skills improvement of the enterprises owners, stressing the European Integration issues,
  • Arranging and introduction of entrepreneurship education, with the emphasis on small and medium sized enterprises,
  • Fostering entrepreneurial activities in order to support the local development,
  • Support of foreign technology and innovation transfer,
  • Cooperation with similar foreign institutions,
  • Assisting the creation of enterprise incubators, technologies transfer centers, technological parks and other forms of cooperation between universities and enterprises,
  • Initiation and implementation of the research and consultative programs concerning entrepreneurship.

Co-operation

EDP aims to enhance competitiveness of the Polish economy through providing support to national business, research centers and universities, but also through the creation of pan- European links and networks.

Welcome

Since its establishment in 2003 the Association “Education for Entrepreneurship” (EDP) fosters close cooperation between individuals, institutions and business entities. As the union of 24 members, state and private-owned universities undertakes various initiatives in order to support and develop entrepreneurship. A further aim is to prepare EU funded projects in the wide area of education. A recent undertaking of the Association is the project “Postgraduate Studies for Managers and Entrepreneurs”. It was granted 12 million Euro and it is considered to be the largest educational initiative of this type in Europe.
